Custom Counter Display Boxes

Custom Counter Display Boxes for Retail Point of Sale

A counter display has a small footprint and a very visible job. It needs to make the product easy to notice, keep the items organized, fit the available counter or checkout area, and give staff a practical way to replenish the display. Our custom counter display boxes are designed for CPG brands, beauty products, snacks, promotional items, small electronics, accessories, and retail launches that need a branded point-of-sale structure.

Prime Packaging Boxes can quote countertop trays, pocketed displays, risers, headers, windowed units, and shipper-display combinations. The right structure depends on product count, item weight, footprint, shelf or counter height, replenishment method, and whether the display arrives assembled or is folded into place at the store.

Plan the Counter Display Around the Product

Start by deciding how many units should be visible and how many should fit behind the front row. Small sachets, boxes, tubes, jars, and accessories each need a different pocket or tray depth. A header can provide space for a logo and product message, while a riser can lift the back row so products are not hidden by the front row. If the display will be placed beside a register, the overall footprint matters as much as the printed artwork.

• Open trays for quick product access and fast replenishment

• Pocketed countertop displays for small packaged products

• Headers and risers for stronger brand and product visibility

• Window or cutout features when seeing the product supports the sale

• Perforated shipper-displays that move from delivery carton to retail counter

Send the product dimensions, unit weight, desired quantity per display, counter footprint, and display height. If the product already has a carton, share that finished package rather than measuring the product alone. For a shelf or floor program, compare the display system with custom carton packaging boxes or use custom packaging sleeves to brand an existing tray.

Materials and Structure for Retail Handling

Folding carton board can suit lightweight products and short-term promotions, while corrugated board can provide more structure when a display carries heavier products or needs to survive a longer retail program. The board, flute, edge construction, and base should be considered with the product load, stacking, shipping, and store handling. A display that looks strong in a flat mock-up still needs the correct support at the tray, riser, and header.

If the display is shipped as a complete unit, test the folded or assembled structure inside the outer carton. If it is converted at the store, make the locking tabs and folds clear for staff. The packaging team should confirm any required load, tip, or transit testing before a large rollout.

Kraft, white board, recycled options, and coated surfaces can support different brand directions. Ask for material guidance that reflects the real product weight and use period instead of using a generic “retail display” specification.

Printing and Point-of-Sale Messaging

Full-color CMYK or Pantone printing can make the header, front lip, tray, and side panels work as one visual system. Put the brand and product category where a shopper can see them from the expected approach direction. A short benefit, flavor, scent, or promotional message can support the purchase, but the display should not become difficult to read from counter distance.

Plan barcodes, prices, replenishment labels, product names, and any retailer-specific information before artwork is approved. If each pocket holds a different SKU, make the layout easy for staff to understand. Matte, gloss, spot UV, foil, and other finishes can emphasize the header or logo, but the structure and product visibility should remain the priority.
