Custom Coffee Bags
Custom Coffee Bags for Roasters and Specialty Coffee Brands
Coffee packaging has to protect a product that changes after roasting while also communicating origin, roast, flavor, and brand personality. A bag may sit on a retail shelf, travel through a subscription shipment, or be handed across a cafe counter. Our custom coffee bags are designed for US roasters, cafes, specialty beverage businesses, and DTC brands that need a printed pouch specified around the coffee, fill process, and sales channel.
Prime Packaging Boxes can help you compare stand-up, flat-bottom, quad-seal, gusseted, and other coffee-bag formats. We can discuss one-way valves, resealable zippers, tear notches, hang holes, barrier constructions, print coverage, and finish. The best combination depends on roast style, grind, degassing, package size, filling method, expected shelf life, and the way the finished bag will be stored and shipped.
Choose a Coffee Bag Format
A small specialty roast bag may need a different footprint from a larger food-service or subscription bag. A stand-up pouch can create a clear retail face, while a flat-bottom or quad-seal bag may provide a stronger shelf block and more panel space. A gusseted format can suit a larger fill, but the side panels should still be considered for origin, brew, and company information.
• Stand-up pouches for retail coffee and small specialty roasts
• Flat-bottom or box-style bags for a strong shelf footprint
• Quad-seal or gusseted structures for larger fills and broad panels
• Resealable zipper options for repeat use after opening
• One-way valve options when the coffee and filling process require degassing support
Share the finished fill weight, grind format, bag dimensions if known, roast profile, and intended channel. For adjacent tea or botanical products, compare custom tea boxes. A high-barrier pouch format may also be relevant for certain dry products, so custom resealable mylar bags can provide a useful comparison without assuming the same material fits every coffee.
Valves, Zippers, and Barrier Decisions
A one-way valve may help manage gas release from freshly roasted coffee while limiting outside air from entering the package. Whether it is needed, and which valve or placement is appropriate, depends on roast, degassing, fill timing, bag volume, and the roaster's quality process. A zipper can make the bag easier to close after opening, but it does not replace a proper heat seal or a packaging review.
Barrier selection should be based on the coffee, expected shelf life, storage conditions, aroma requirements, filling equipment, and distribution route. A foil or multi-layer laminate may be appropriate for one product, while another brand may prefer a different construction for appearance, sustainability, or performance reasons. Confirm seal performance and compatibility with the co-packer or filling partner before approving a production run.
Tell us whether the bag needs a tear notch, hang hole, clear window, degassing valve, zipper, or a specific seal area. Each feature changes the usable artwork area and the finished pack-out.
Print Coffee Information Customers Actually Use
Full-color digital printing can reproduce a roast-color system, origin illustration, photography, gradients, or a precise logo across a coffee line. Matte, gloss, soft-touch, metallic, and spot finishes can make the brand feel premium, but important facts should remain easy to scan. Use the strongest front area for the roaster and coffee name, then organize origin, roast level, tasting notes, format, and net weight around the remaining panels.
Reserve space for roast date, best-by guidance where used, grind, brew recommendations, origin, lot or batch fields, barcode, company information, and any approved claims. A clear SKU system helps customers recognize a light roast, dark roast, decaf, single-origin, or blend without confusing one product with another. Your team should approve all sourcing, sustainability, freshness, and performance language before production.
